There are a few products on the market that ties an Esthetician to their profession. There's exfoliating products, serums, and facial devices. These things scream skin care. Some products will holler from the roof tops PROFESSIONAL skin care, even though those products and devices are sold to the general public. Why is that? As a professional Esthetician, seeing professional grade products on sale to the general public annoys the #$%# out of me! Does it bother you? One product in particular always leaves me scratching my head wondering "what is this doing on the shelf", of a chain beauty retailer, left for the general public to explore? Are you all aware? Body waxing products and supplies are sold to the public. Yep, that's a fact!
Body waxing is one of the main services that we offer as estheticians. So, why in the hell is it being sold in stores to common folks without licenses, and the education behind the product to properly administrate without injury? Who is the person behind these decisions and why is it ok for the unknowing public to use waxing products that rhyme with Phi Phi, (just to hint at a few) without a license? People are left to butcher themselves with lifted skin patches and product burns all over their bodies. Leaving the Esthetic industry looking like a hot mess. Flooding the TUBE with a bunch of horribly WRONG DIY waxing videos. Of course, I'm venting, lol, I'm fully aware, but my venting has an action plan to aid in these silly practices by large waxing companies and DIY waxing videos.
I have a clear understanding of the esthetics industry because, I'm a licensed esthetic instructor. I feel like our industry is compromised enough. For that reason, our company, Waxed By An Esthetician, has standards and rules that we follow. We cater to and supply Brazilian and body waxing products to licensed Estheticians, beauty professionals and students ONLY. So, if you're not one of those three, you can't buy product from me. That's on PERIOD Pooh! Not only do we have exclusivity for licensed beauty professionals and students, our prices and product quality are incomparable and of premium quality.
By having this standard I can only hope it starts a trend and other professionals requires the same and take a stand for the esthetics industry. I'm faithful that it'll catch traction and companies will start to put some respect on our name. Hopefully other beauty professionals will fall in line and develop a professional standard and acknowledgment to the license and education we hold.
Well, until next time Wax BAE's, this is your friendly (a bit annoyed today lol) and informative Esthetics Instructor signing off. I'll type to you all next time.
